Administrator's Welcome

My name is Trish Cobb, and I am the principal of Marshall Darnell Elementary School. It is sincerely an honor to be given the opportunity to work for such an amazing school. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to talk to me or our assistant principal, Ms. Ivey. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you. I have been with the Clark County School District for twenty-nine years as an English and reading teacher of students in grades six through eight; Learning Strategist and G.A.T.E. teacher; and Assistant Principal. I have worked at Guinn and Molasky Junior High Schools and Bruner Elementary School.
All of my undergraduate and graduates studies were accomplished at UNLV including a bachelors of science in education and masters degrees in curriculum and instruction as well as administrative leadership. I am a life-long resident of Las Vegas. My husband of thirty-one years and I met in choir at Bonanza High School. We are the proud parents of five children – all them former Darnell Superstars! With the help of the amazing teacher and staff at Darnell, my assistant principal and I strive to maintain high expectations for each child, encouraging each one to realize his/her full potential. We appreciate your continued support as we strive to provide a quality education to your children.

My name is Lynn Ivey, and I am the assistant principal of Marshall Darnell Elementary School. The Darnell community is one of a kind and I am fortunate to work for such a spectacular school and principal, Mrs. Cobb. We are an amazing team and our mission is to create an atmosphere where students, staff, and community members feel welcomed. I have been with the Clark County School District for the last twenty-five years serving the Las Vegas and North Las Vegas communities. I am the proud mom of two, two-legged boys/men and two, four-legged boys who keep me busy. I consider Las Vegas home, but I was born and raised in south Georgia where I met my partner and best friend Dale. Over my twenty-five years with the Clark County School District I have worn many hats as a classroom teacher, Literacy Strategist, Behavior Mentor, and Assistant Principal. With Mrs. Cobb's leadership and our Super Star staff, we will guide each of our students as they learn and grow. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of the education of your children.
