Kindergarten students begin the school year with 50 minute story programs designed to get them used to library expectations and procedures.  Book care is gradually introduced.  The children will begin to borrow books for one week at a time.

One of the skills that we stress is locating appropriate materials to borrow for a period of one week.  You can check with your child's teacher to see what day they come to the library.  If they do not have their book when they come to the library they will not be allowed to borrow another book that week.

If a book is damaged beyond repair or a book is lost, a bill statement will be issued

to the student showing the replacement cost of the book plus a Follett processing fee.

You may send in CASH or make out a check to the "Darnell Elementary”.  If a “lost” book

is found after the replacement cost has been paid (within that school year), the student

will be reimbursed the cost of the book after it has been returned to the Library Media

Center in good condition and can be returned into circulation.
